The ideal candidate will bring a sharp analytical mindset, strong business intuition, and a collaborative spirit to uncover optimization opportunities and influence product strategy. We’re excited to meet candidates who are eager to deliver impact through data-driven insights, scalable experimentation, and thoughtful fraud strategy that enhances both user experience and safety.<br><br><strong>What You’ll Do<br><br></strong><ul><li>Proactively explore data and identify opportunities to help accelerate product development or improve existing products in Trust and Safety domain, and drive the analytical work of online experiment to optimize the existing fraud decisioning strategies to achieve better conversion rate.</li><li>Translate analysis and trends into recommendations for business logic to improve identity and fraud conversion rates or fraud rates</li><li>Develop scalable frameworks to manage tiered cutoffs for proprietary fraud machine learning models</li><li>Evaluate innovative data sources to solve fraud risk, and partner with the data engineering team to develop and maintain the data pipelines for our core datasets for analytical purposes. </li><li>Own end-to-end analytics workflow, including defining success and performance metrics, socializing them across the organization, and creating actionable dashboards and reports</li><li>Partner with Machine Learning on building fraud and identity verification strategies for new product, market, and user segments</li><li>Partner closely with Product and Engineering to identify highest impact points in the funnel to drive user acquisition and retention<br><br></li></ul><strong>What We Look For</strong> <br><br><ul><li>EXPERIENCE - 2-4 years work experience in customer risk management at a payments or financial company.</li><li>TECHNICAL SKILLS - Fluent in SQL and Python or R</li><li>PEOPLE SKILLS - A team player with ability to collaborate and influence across different teams in the organization</li><li>COMMUNICATION - Ability to clearly communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences</li><li>PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE - Passion to understand how the product works and how to change to make it more effective</li><li>MULTI-TASKING - Strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities</li><ul><li>Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be responsive and available during high intensity moments</li></ul><li>EDUCATION - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree degree in a quantitatively rigorous discipline like engineering, statistics, math, or economics desired</li><li>RISK KNOWLEDGE - Knowledge of the fundamentals of payment processing and an understanding of industry risk trends, including familiarity with risk strategy development. <br></li></ul>Pay Grade - K<br><br>Equity Grade - 6<br><br>Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.<br><br>Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)<br><br>USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $140,000 - $190,000<br><br>USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $124,000 - $174,000<br><br>Affirm is proud to be a remote-first company!
