The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge in a number of sensing devices and technologies to coincide with firmware and algorithm capabilities necessary to make the sensor become an experience.Key QualificationsAlgorithm design for classification, noise modeling/filtering, signal processing, statistical analysis, and machine learning.Experience with data analysis, visualization of complex data in Python and/or MATLAB, and presenting resulting conclusions.Implementation into embedded or resource-constrained systems in C/C++ in production environments.Able to learn how to quantify and test new sensing technologies such as IMU, capacitive, environmental, light, motion, radar, optical, and acoustic, and evaluate user impact and performance.Obsessively passionate and inquisitive, and seek to solve everyday problems in innovative ways.Availability to travel domestically and internationally for development and on-site manufacturing support is expected.DescriptionGenuine passion for innovation and product development with experience from inception through delivery to customers. You will work very closely with the architecture team, the human experience team, firmware and software teams, and electrical and mechanical engineering teams to define and create sensing experiences for a number of future products. Specifically, during the concept design of a product, the candidate will be responsible for driving and creating requirements, identifying the best hardware solutions available, and designing the software algorithms. The individual will also be responsible for the overall sensor integration and tuning in the product, ensuring the highest quality execution.Education & ExperienceM.S. in EE, CE, CS, or equivalent experience or skills.Additional RequirementsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $161,700 and $284,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
