This is a dual-role position combining remote pharmacy data entry responsibilities with field-based ADU/ADS support throughout the Cleveland area.

Position Overview:
The Hybrid Pharmacy Technician role combines Automated Dispensing Unit (ADU/ADS) field support with Remote Pharmacy Data Entry responsibilities. Team members will spend approximately:
  • 2 days per week traveling to healthcare facilities throughout the Cleveland area to maintain ADS inventory and compliance.
  • 3 days per week working remotely performing pharmacy data entry and customer support functions.
This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy both independent field work and remote pharmacy operations support in a fast-paced Long-Term Care environment.
Responsibilities:
ADU / ADS Travel Technician Duties (2 Days Weekly):
  • Travel to assigned healthcare facilities throughout the Cleveland area.
  • Work independently under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Maintain active communication with facility staff and pharmacy teams.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within Automated Dispensing Systems (ADS), including:
    • Medication quantities.
    • Expiration dates.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Replace medications approaching expiration to maintain compliance and patient safety.
  • Perform monthly audits and cycle counts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Represent SpecialtyRx professionally while onsite at client facilities.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
Remote Data Entry Pharmacy Technician Duties (3 Days Weekly):
  • Perform duties assigned by the Data Entry Manager.
  • Enter and process prescription orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Answer phones and respond to customer inquiries, re-orders, and medication requests.
  • Handle and resolve client concerns in a timely manner.
  • Triage incoming faxes by facility and department according to cutoff times.
  • Clarify medication orders as needed with facilities and pharmacy staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and workflow within pharmacy systems.
Qualifications:
  • Active Ohio Board of Pharmacy Technician License (required).
  • PTCB Certification required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous pharmacy technician experience required.
  • Long-Term Care pharmacy experience preferred.
  • ADS/ADU or inventory management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of brand and generic medications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple locations.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally.
  • Ability to perform light lifting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods during data entry shifts.
Schedule:
  • Full-Time.
  • Combination of:
    • Day shift travel schedule for ADS responsibilities.
    • Remote data entry shifts based on operational needs.
  • Typical travel shift hours:
    • 8:00am–4:30pm or 9:00am–5:30pm.
  • Weekend rotation may be required.
