Our staff is well-trained and highly skilled, qualities that are vital to maintaining excellence in care and service.</p> <h2>Job Summary and Responsibilities</h2> <p>As our Connection Center Triage RN, you will rapidly assess and prioritize patients' healthcare needs, directing them to the appropriate level of care.Every day you will conduct patient interviews, evaluate symptoms, perform initial assessments, and apply critical thinking to determine urgency and disposition. You will also provide advice, educate, and coordinate care.To be successful in this role you must demonstrate exceptional critical thinking, rapid assessment abilities, and strong communication, managing priorities effectively under pressure to ensure timely and appropriate patient attention.</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for triaging incoming calls from patients, assessing needs, giving appropriate clinical dispositions base on established protocols</li> <li>Facilitates access to primary care providers, specialists, healthcare facilities and community resources</li> <li>Provides education to patients regarding immediate care advice and preventative healthcare maintenance</li> <li>Adapts communication style to patients representing diverse personal, professional, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds</li> <li>Ability to multi-task utilizing critical thinking, verbal and listening communication skills while performing data entry</li> <li>Utilizes computer database to assess, educate and document all information</li> </ul> <h2>Job Requirements</h2> <p><strong>Required</strong></p> <ul> <li>Satisfactory completion of a formal Registered Nurse program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Registered Nurse program (determination by Dignity Health Medical Foundation H.R. department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions.) </li> <li>Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in acute care or ambulatory care medical clinic</li> <li>Minimum six (6) months of telephone/ call center triage nurse experience</li> <li>Current and valid Registered Nurse: CA license (RN:CA)</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills are essential </li> <li>Knowledge of medical terminology, familiarity with CPT and ICD coding procedures and reference tools, and pharmacology appropriate to the Registered Nurse scope of practice is essential</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelors Of Science Nursing </li> <li>One (1) or more years of telephone/ call center triage nurse experience</li> <li>Familiarity with an electronic practice management system</li> </ul>
