About the position

Robinhood is building an elite team to tackle the world's biggest financial problems using frontier technologies. The Creative Team is a collaborative group of writers, designers, motion designers, and producers focused on building trust and driving action through clear, engaging, and on-brand storytelling. They partner closely with Marketing, Performance, Social, Comms, and Product teams. The Associate Creative Director, Copy will help shape and evolve Robinhood's voice across campaigns, brand moments, and new products. This role requires someone who leads through craft, defines copy direction, names products, and perfects copy. The position is based in New York, NY, with a requirement for at least 3 days of in-person attendance per week, emphasizing the company's belief in the power of in-person work for innovation and community building.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, define and optimize strategic copy frameworks across product launches, brand initiatives, and events
  • Develop Robinhood's brand voice across channels: broadcast, audio, digital, social, print, and beyond
  • Drive consistency of voice across products and our brand
  • Write taglines, product headlines, and brand messaging that is clear, witty, and unmistakably on-brand
  • Collaborate with designers, motion designers, producers, and strategists to build coordinated, cross-channel work
  • Functionally lead and develop a team of copywriters
  • Partner with Content and Strategy teams to ensure copy is both on-brand and strategically grounded
  • Present work clearly and confidently to cross-functional partners and stakeholders
  • Find opportunities to push the brand's voice forward — balancing consistency with fresh creative thinking

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional copywriting experience, with a strong consumer-facing background (agency experience required)
  • A portfolio demonstrating conceptual range and copy craft across product development, brand identity, and digital and broadcast channels; campaign writing is preferred
  • The ability to take complex, technical subject matter and make it feel simple, human, and compelling
  • A genuine flair for brevity and wit — you know when one word beats ten
  • Proven ability to lead creative work and influence without authority, giving clear, thoughtful feedback in fast-paced environments
  • Deep understanding of what makes a brand voice distinct, and the discipline to serve it over your own instincts
  • Experience building & scaling frameworks to drive consistency
  • Experience working both in-house and at creative studios
