Description:
Tyto Athene is searching for a Data Analyst - Journeyman to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida. Positions are located both CONUS/OCONUS at the SOUTHCOM HQ in Doral, FL, and at the TSOC and other locations abroad (GTMO, Honduras, Colombia etc.).

The Journeyman Data Analyst collects, analyzes, and interprets data to support organizational objectives and mission outcomes. This role is responsible for working with stakeholders to understand data needs, performing ETL processes, and building reports and dashboards that provide operational insight. The analyst contributes to data quality improvement and supports strategic decision-making through accurate and timely reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Focuses on managing data-driven insights, developing visualizations, and contributing to data-informed decision-making processes across the Enterprise Information Environment (EIE)
  • Collects and organizes data from multiple sources, for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with mission requirements
  • Updates and manages data repositories to reflect current operational and strategic needs
  • Conducts detailed data analyses to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support mission objectives
  • Applies statistical methods and data modeling techniques to address organizational challenges and inform decision-making
  • Develops clear and effective data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders, tailoring data products to meet the needs of both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Identifies areas for process improvement based on data insights, contributing to enhanced efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize data workflows and align them with broader organizational strategies
  • Collects and extracts data utilizing technical sensors and user feedback to inform operationally relevant and proactive insights, improving UX and mitigating potential issues
  • Maintains continuous awareness of the user environment, proactively addressing and preventing issues before they arise
  • By leveraging telemetry data, they provide real-time insights to inform leadership, especially during service degradations, offering Courses of Action (COAs) for remediation activities
  • Recommends optimization steps to enhance user satisfaction, so that current and future capabilities improve usability and contribute to mission success.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Associate’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  • 4-9 years of hand on experience in data analysis or business intelligence. Basic experience with virtualization tools such as VMware or ESXI.Proficiency in SQL and experience querying relational databases
  • Familiarity with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other data manipulation tools
Desired:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Experience supporting DoD or federal government environments
  • Experience with scripting in Python or R for data analysis
  • Knowledge of data cataloging or metadata management tools
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
  • Experience with ETL tools and data pipeline operations.Familiarity with data governance principles and CUI handling
  • .Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate
  • Tableau Desktop Specialist or Power BI Data Analyst Associate
Clearance:
  • TS/SCI clearance required
Certification:
  • DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
  • CompTIA Security+ CE
