Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Daycare Assistant Director, where you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for young children. Duties

  • Assist the Director in managing daily daycare operations, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and safety standards
  • Support classroom management by supervising staff and guiding curriculum implementation aligned with childhood development principles
  • Oversee child care activities across age groups including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs or disabilities
  • Coordinate staff schedules, training sessions (including first aid and behavior management), and professional development opportunities
  • Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and community partners to promote open communication and trust
  • Ensure proper documentation of child progress, incident reports, attendance records, and health & safety logs
  • Lead emergency response procedures when necessary, including administering first aid or coordinating with emergency responders
Qualifications
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a childcare environment is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of childhood development stages, special education needs, and working with individuals with disabilities
  • Strong understanding of classroom management techniques and caregiving best practices
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, parents, and community stakeholders
  • Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
  • Age & Education: Must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience working with children in a licensed facility is required.
  • 45-Hour Admin Course: Completion of an approved 45-hour Director/Administration training course is necessary.
  • 45-Hour Development Course: Often, 45 hours of approved child development or curriculum coursework is required.
  • Health & Safety: Valid CPR, First Aid, and medication administration training are typically required.
  • Background Checks: Must pass a comprehensive background check, including FBI fingerprinting and child abuse/neglect clearances.
  • Education Requirements (Center Size): Associate or Bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in early childhood education.
  • Staff Interaction: At least 9 clock hours of approved training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public is needed.
