About the position

Responsibilities

  • Provide support of a complex, responsible nature to the Head of School, Senior Leadership Team, Board of Trustees, and general school administrative staff.
  • Assist the Board of Trustees Chair, the Executive Committee, and Board Committee Chairs.
  • Manage and maintain all annual documents and processes for the Board as well as all Board historical records.
  • Maintain the Board's annual calendar, plan logistics for all Board and Board Committee meetings, attend the Board meetings, record proceedings accurately, and prepare minutes for distribution.
  • Assist the Head of School with any Board responsibilities.
  • Manage the Head of School's calendar, anticipate scheduling needs, confirm appointments, and prepare materials for meetings.
  • Schedule and coordinate administrative meetings, conferences, appointments, and travel.
  • Work with Finance and Operations departments on contractual and procedural matters as determined by the Head of School.
  • Edit and coordinate the publication of major school documents and handbooks throughout the year; prepare drafts, gather revisions, and compile finalized editions.
  • Review, edit, and proofread documents prepared by the Head of School.
  • Draft standard correspondence as assigned.
  • Assist the Head of School with strategic initiatives including research, correspondence, and document preparation.
  • Coordinate and produce state, national, and accrediting institution reports and surveys.
  • Maintain various calendars and the master school facilities use schedules.
  • Plan and manage the Head of School's annual budget, monitor accounts, and procure equipment and supplies for the Head of School's Office.
  • Maintain Head of School's office records.
  • Assist Marketing and Communications, Development, Finance and Operations, and other Divisional areas with the administration of projects as needed.
  • Exercise independent judgment in identifying and administering Head of School's projects of a public relations nature.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Expertise in working with detailed, confidential material in a professional manner with minimum supervision
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills
  • Ability to take accurate and concise minutes
  • High level of organizational skill and planning capability
  • Computer proficiency including intermediate level of word processing, spreadsheet, and PowerPoint; desktop publishing; and internet searching and web posting skills.
