The ideal candidate is a DoD professional with leadership experience who can expand awareness of AT&T's unique combination of mission support in the areas of wired and wireless and telecommunications and professional services to Department of the Air Force customers and industry teammates.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Overall Purpose: Responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic partnerships and business opportunities, including providing complex analytical support for initiatives, Dept of the Air Force acquisitions, alliances, and joint ventures, to drive revenue growth and expand market presence.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Market Analysis and Competitive Monitoring: Conduct complex market analysis, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs. Research internal financial and performance data; industry trends; competitive landscape; and market dynamics to inform strategic opportunity identification and decision-making.

Developing Strategic Partnerships and Managing Relationships: Identify and approach potential partners to establish strategic alliances and partnerships that align with the company's goals. Develop and maintain relationships between AT&T and partners, regulatory officials, and government officials.

Conducting Due Diligence and Analysis: Perform detailed analysis and due diligence on potential business opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures. Evaluate financial and operational performance to assess the viability and potential impact of new ventures. Determine the magnitude of upside, investment, risk, and critical success factors of strategic opportunities.

Creating and Presenting Business Proposals: Develop comprehensive business proposals and presentation materials to pitch new opportunities to internal stakeholders and potential partners. Create the case for change and execution plans that align and compel all stakeholders to take risk, manage risk, and initiate transformation.

Collaborating with Cross-Functional Teams and Negotiating Contracts: Work closely with internal teams, including legal, accounting, and business inspection, to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives. Participate in the negotiations of principal terms and conditions of transactions. Collaborate to define and execute transformation initiatives and ensure successful opportunity execution.

Job Contribution: An experienced professional, recognized as an expert, creatively resolving complex issues with broad and in-depth knowledge. Leads significant projects with strategic autonomy, influencing executive decisions. Mentors less experienced staff, implements long-term plans impacting the organization, and frequently collaborates with senior leadership.

Required Clearance:

Secret and have the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI (#secret) (#tssci)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • DoD experience- active duty, civilian, or contractor
  • Insight into current and future programs within the target customer base (Dept of the Air Force)
  • Functional and organizational knowledge of IT / network efforts within the target customer base
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, and writing skills are required as are demonstrated leadership skills
  • Understanding of sales and business development process

Desired Qualifications
  • BS in Technical discipline (Computer, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or similar field)
  • Computer Skills at an advanced level
  • Past operations experience with/for the Department of Defense, specifically Dept of the Air Force


Our Lead Business Developer's earn between $87,600 - $228,600. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
