<p>Your job is more than a job.</p><p></p><p>The LPN Clinic provides appropriate medical care and counseling to the patient. Assists the medical provider in the delivery of care under stable and predictable conditions within the framework of a patient care assignment.</p><p></p><div><p><u><b>General Duties</b></u></p><p></p><p><b>Clinical Skills</b></p><ul><li><p>Provides patient care under supervision and in collaboration with the healthcare team.</p></li><li><p>Measures and records vital signs per departmental policy and patient age; identifies and reports abnormal findings.</p></li><li><p>Supports clinic flow, including:</p><ul><li><p>Patient intake and rooming</p></li><li><p>Assisting with and performing procedures</p></li><li><p>Scheduling appointments</p></li><li><p>Facilitating patient discharge</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Prepares patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.</p></li><li><p>Monitors for signs of abuse or neglect and reports per policy.</p></li><li><p>Recognizes and responds to emergencies in accordance with organizational procedures.</p></li><li><p>Performs basic clinical procedures (e.g., simple dressing changes) within scope and competency.</p></li><li><p>Ensures patient comfort, considering age and special needs.</p></li><li><p>Prepares, tests, cleans, and disinfects clinical equipment per hospital policy.</p></li><li><p>Administers medications and vaccines as prescribed following departmental guidelines.</p></li><li><p>Collects, prepares, and secures specimens for testing or transport; performs point-of-care testing per laboratory guidelines.</p></li><li><p>Maintains medication inventory, storage, and disposal standards, including:</p><ul><li><p>Monitoring expiration dates</p></li><li><p>Ensuring proper storage conditions (temperature logs, etc.)</p></li><li><p>Safely handling multi-dose medications</p></li></ul></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Documentation</b></p><ul><li><p>Accurately documents clinical tasks, procedures, and test results in the electronic medical record (EMR).</p></li><li><p>Completes required paperwork, including quality control documentation for waived testing.</p></li><li><p>Maintains patient confidentiality by securing access to protected health information.</p></li><li><p>Utilizes EMR systems to:</p><ul><li><p>Access lab and radiology results</p></li><li><p>Update patient demographics</p></li><li><p>Retrieve medical records</p></li><li><p>Schedule follow-up appointments</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Prepares safety reports as needed or directed by leadership.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Professionalism & Support</b></p><ul><li><p>Communicates with and keeps the clinic manager informed of activities, challenges, and needs.</p></li><li><p>Upholds strict patient confidentiality and professional standards at all times.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Safety & Infection Control</b></p><ul><li><p>Supports compliance with safety, infection control, environmental, and regulatory standards.</p></li><li><p>Adheres to standard and transmission-based precautions.</p></li><li><p>Promotes patient safety during all clinic interactions.</p></li><li><p>Maintains a clean and organized clinical environment.</p></li><li><p>Reports safety concerns or hazards promptly.</p></li><li><p>Participates in quality improvement initiatives, including:</p><ul><li><p>QAPI projects</p></li><li><p>Environment of Care (EOC) rounds</p></li></ul></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Clerical Support</b></p><ul><li><p>Assists in clinic preparation by gathering patient documentation for provider review.</p></li><li><p>Operates office equipment (computers, printers, scanners, fax machines).</p></li><li><p>Scans and uploads external documents into the EMR.</p></li><li><p>Obtains medical records from external facilities as requested.</p></li><li><p>Answers and directs phone calls promptly and professionally.</p></li></ul></div><p><br /><b><u>LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS</u></b></p><p><span>BLS Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association.</span> <span>Licensed to practice as an </span><span>LPN in Louisiana.</span></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>WORK SHIFT: </b></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>Days (United States of America)<p style="text-align:left"><span><b><span>LCMC Health is a community.</span></b></span><span><span> </span></span></p><p style="text-align:left"><span><span>Our people make health happen.
