We create fulfilling purpose-driven careers by learning from the world and each other. <br><br></li></ul><strong>POSITION TITLE<br><br></strong>Manager, Government & Industry Relations<br><br><strong>POSITION LOCATION<br><br></strong>Richmond, VA (hybrid)<br><br><strong>YOUR ROLE<br><br></strong>Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Government & Industry Relations, you will be an engaged advocate and business partner responsible for executing government relations and regulatory support to Genworth and CareScout.<br><br><strong>What You Will Be Doing<br><br></strong><ul><li>Interact and develop relationships with state regulators, legislators, industry peers and other stakeholders; coordinate / facilitate interaction between those stakeholders and internal Genworth teams</li><li>Be an accomplished personal advocate by leveraging one's researching and writing skills</li><li>Be able to engage effectively with internal stakeholders, including senior leaders, and understand and participate in the formation of business plans;</li><li>As a fully engaged part of a team, develop, execute and report on government relations work plans that advance Genworth business strategies; monitor, and report out on, regulatory and legislative developments relevant to the businesses of Genworth and CareScout;</li><li>Manage, in coordination with Legal and Compliance existing processes, identification, tracking, advancing / opposing developing legislative and regulatory proposals; develop and share internal tracking metrics, leveraging relationships with state and national insurance trade organizations;</li><li>Prepare and conduct training and education, formal and informal (including preparation of materials), for policymakers, regulators, employees, consultants, and other stakeholders; </li><li>Assist with management of departmental projects;</li><li>Assist with PAC administration, lobbying expense reporting and political contribution tracking; and</li><li>Prepare PowerPoint presentations in compliance with business requirements</li><li>Travel is required<br><br></li></ul><strong>What You Bring<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree</li><li>At least 5-7 years in a legal or government relations position with emphasis on regulatory affairs within highly regulated industries</li><li>Strong research and writing ability</li><li>Ability to develop strategies in collaboration with the business while providing guidance on government relations aspects of those strategies</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior executives, regulators, legislators and other elected and appointed public officials</li><li>Verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to influence people, build relationships, and communicate key issues and strategy</li><li>Exceptional time management, organizational and prioritization skills with an emphasis on follow-through and attention to detail</li><li>Strong skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and other Microsoft Office programs </li><li>Proactive, proven good judgment and creative problem-solving skills<br><br></li></ul><strong>Nice to have<br><br></strong><ul><li>Juris Doctor, Master of Public Administration, and/or Master of Public Policy </li><li>Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and long-term services and supports</li><li>Experience as legislative staffer in state or federal government </li><li>Prior experience with long-term care insurance (LTCI), and in particular interacting with regulators with respect to LTCI rate actions<br><br></li></ul><strong>Employee Benefits & Well-Being<br><br></strong>Genworth employees make a difference in people’s lives every day.
