Kroger is seeking a Meat Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will perform general clean-up and stock work in the Meat department while delivering excellent customer service. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Wait on customers promptly and cheerfully, providing high-quality service and food.
  • Unload, stock, and store merchandise according to company standards.
  • Prepare, package, and display foods following recipes, safety standards, and policies.
  • Perform required temperature checks and monitor product quality to ensure freshness and safety.
  • Maintain cleanliness in sales areas, backrooms, and coolers, keeping floors safe and clutter-free.
  • Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils in compliance with health and company standards.
  • Maintain signage, product rotation, freshness, and proper space allocation for merchandise.
  • Safely operate production equipment and use cleaning solutions and sharp tools properly.
  • Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures (as applicable).
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and support team operations.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with customers and associates.
  • Ability to read product labels, shelf tags, training materials, and bulletins.
  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to safely handle cleaning solutions, sharp tools, and production equipment.
  • Personal initiative with the ability to follow through on tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in food preparation or grocery retail.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and employment practices.
  • Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
  • Experience in customer service and handling high-paced interactions.
