OVERVIEW

As we continue our rapid growth, we are looking to grow our Local Independent Grocery team within Strategic Partnerships. We are hiring a Sales Development Representative to identify, contact, and qualify independent retailers as potential partners for Instacart, as well as close small business opportunities.The Sales Development Representative will play a critical role in managing leads through the pipeline by setting meetings, following up with prospects, and driving progress toward partnership goals.

About the Team:

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) team is focused on engaging independent retailers and setting meetings to help them explore the opportunities available on the Instacart Marketplace. By building strong relationships and identifying retailers ready to grow their online presence, SDRs play a vital role in connecting businesses to Instacart’s platform. Whether working with grocery, alcohol, or other retail businesses, the team is dedicated to helping retailers expand their reach and meet the needs of their customers through Instacart’s ecosystem.


ABOUT THE JOB

  • Prospect and engage independent retailers to join the Instacart Marketplace.
  • Opportunity to manage the end-to-end sales cycle for small opportunities
  • Use cold calls and emails to identify new opportunities, drive value, and establish meaningful relationships with local retailers.
  • Strong problem-solving, solution mapping and negotiation skills
  • Time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a strong go to market strategy
  • Work independently while collaborating with the team to achieve individual and team objectives.

ABOUT YOU

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a sales or business development role
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport and establish lasting relationships.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of the grocery industry, including market trends and operational challenges.
  • Experience selling SaaS solutions to drive retailer success is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales engagement tools.
