This role is responsible for renewals, vendor marketing, plan analysis, compliance support, open enrollment, and ongoing client relationship management.</p> <p>The ideal candidate brings strong employee benefits brokerage experience, consultative client skills, and the ability to manage complex accounts in a fast‑paced environment.</p> <hr> <h2>Key Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Serve as the primary client contact and subject matter expert for employee benefits accounts</li> <li>Manage day‑to‑day client service, escalations, and complex coverage or compliance inquiries</li> <li>Analyze client census and experience data for new and renewal business</li> <li>Conduct carrier marketing, obtain quotes, compare plan designs, and evaluate alternatives</li> <li>Present recommendations to clients, including senior HR and leadership stakeholders</li> <li>Negotiate premiums, plan terms, and commissions with carriers and vendors on behalf of clients</li> <li>Lead open enrollment planning and execution, including employee communications</li> <li>Prepare client presentations, proposals, and benefit summaries</li> <li>Support Producers with sales activities and new business development</li> <li>Maintain accurate documentation in agency management systems and CRM tools</li> </ul> <hr> <h2>Core Competencies</h2> <h3>Client Service & Consulting</h3> <ul> <li>Employee benefits strategy and advisory support</li> <li>Medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and ancillary benefits knowledge</li> <li>Carrier negotiation and vendor management</li> <li>Compliance support related to state and federal regulations</li> </ul> <h3>Leadership & Collaboration</h3> <ul> <li>Partner effectively with Producers, Client Executives, and service teams</li> <li>Mentor junior staff and support team workflows</li> <li>Manage multiple deadlines, priorities, and client deliverables</li> </ul> <hr> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in employee benefits account management with a brokerage, consulting firm, or health insurance carrier</li> <li>Strong understanding of benefits renewals, plan design, and carrier markets</li> <li>Experience supporting mid‑market or large group employee benefits clients preferred</li> <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint</li> <li>Ability to thrive in a deadline‑driven, client‑facing environment</li> <li>Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills</li> </ul> <hr> <h2>Licenses & Certifications</h2> <ul> <li>Active California Life & Health Insurance License required</li> <li>Professional designations such as CEBS, PHR, BGA, or CLU preferred</li> </ul> <hr> <h2>Compensation</h2> <p>The national base salary range for this position is $100,000 – $125,000, exclusive of bonuses or benefits.
