Position Purpose:

Maintain a portfolio of multiple hardware and/or software technologies, products, and/or processes including standards of use, life cycles, and product evaluation and integration. Develop and maintain an in-depth pool of technical advice and expertise to provide information and guidance of the infrastructure assigned. Provide guidance and training to less experience staff.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform technical interviews and analysis with vendors and/or stake holders to develop and track the road map/life cycle of infrastructure for hardware, software, products, and/or processes. May schedule regular meetings, conference calls, or on-site visits with vendors and/or stake holders to keep abreast of current technology(s), products, and/or processes. May review with vendor and/or stakeholders, known upcoming activities associated with their specific technology(s), product(s), and/or processes. Research and stay abreast of all information that may impact the lifecycle of any supported technology, product, and/or process.
  • Facilitate the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of best practices, policies, standards, and desktop procedures to be used by the operational units to guide the use of each technology solution or product.
  • Assist in the research and development of new products including product evaluation, integration, or procedures of use.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and open communication with vendors, operations, architecture, and/or management staff.
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff in the responsibilities involved in technology analysis.

To Qualify for This Position, You Will Need:

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's in a job related field
  • OR 4 years job related work experience
  • OR Associate's and 2 years job related work experience

Required Work Experience:

  • 7 Years specific knowledge of the technologies, products, and/or processes to be supported.
  • 3 Years directly supporting those technologies, products, and/or processes. (may be concurrent)

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of a variety of information technology products and solutions.
  • Excellent research, customer service, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good judgment.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the IT organization.
  • Ability to lead and mentor less experienced staff.

Required Software and Other Tools:

Microsoft Office. Software and tools will vary based on the technologies supported.

We Prefer That You Have:

  • At least 5+ years of Splunk development experience
  • Experience utilizing Predictive Analytics to forecast health of infrastructure.
  • Experience with model development and deployment
  • Must have skills: Splunk, Scripting experience (PowerShell, Perl, Python, JavaScript, or Shell scripting), and Linux and Windows with a solid grasp of system administration.
  • Experience in design, implementation, administration, and support on Hybrid Splunk environments (AWS Cloud, Heavy forwarders, UFs, Deployment server).
  • Experience in onboarding and fixing data
  • Good knowledge of Syslog, and Network protocols

Certifications:

  • Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin
  • Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect (Nice to have)
  • Splunk IT Service Intelligence Certified Admin
