Our expertise spans traditional electrical contracting, security solutions, audio-visual integration, wireless networking, and building management systems.<br><br><strong>Job Summary<br><br></strong>Miller Electric: The Journey-level Electrician is an electrical craftsman that performs a wide range of skills including installation of complex electrical systems, troubleshooting, repair, demolition, maintenance, layout, cleanup, remodel or other related activities in a safe manner. These activities are safely performed in a variety of settings including construction, existing facilities, roadways, industrial, healthcare, service, commercial, governmental and other facets of the electrical industry. State licensure is helpful but not required.<br><br><strong> Benefits include Family Medical Care Plan, National Electrical Benefit Fund & National Electrical Annuity Plan. <br><br></strong><strong>Essential Duties & Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Performs work required for the repair, maintenance, installation, and modernization of electrical systems for buildings, equipment and grounds in compliance with OSHA and Miller safety protocols.</li><li>Performs work with a high degree of craftsmanship, with manual and technical competency in compliance of the National Electrical Code (NEC).</li><li>Locates and determines electrical malfunctions using test equipment and repairs malfunctions by such methods as testing, cleaning and maintenance.</li><li>Performs tests on electrical equipment, such as, motors, heaters, and controls for safety and efficiency, using standard test equipment and by observing functions.</li><li>Installs light fixtures, wiring, boxes, conduits, panels and other electrical equipment in a safe, neat and workman-like manner.</li><li>Knowledge of security and fire alarm systems.</li><li>Performs other duties as may be required.</li><li>Perform manual labor as required that may include:</li><ul><li>Manual excavation</li><li>Bending and installing various types of conduits</li><li>Pulling and terminate wire</li><li>Lifting 50 pounds (panels, lights, boxes, cable reels, etc.)</li><li>Working with hands overhead</li><li>Using heavy equipment</li><li>Using power and battery tools</li><li>Work at higher elevations using ladders, scaffolds, and lifts as directed.<br></li></ul></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Have minimum 14,000 field hours that are documented and verifiable on a commercial or industrial job site and also be confirmed by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)</li><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Thorough knowledge of the electrical trade, codes and safety.</li><li>Requires initiative and ingenuity to analyze a situation and to make frequent technical decisions based on specifications and electrical codes.</li><li>Ability to sustain considerable physical effort at frequent intervals.</li><li>Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
