<strong>Description<br><br></strong>Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.<br><br><strong>Export Control Requirement<br><br></strong>Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.<br><br>The Kuiper Ground Infrastructure Design and Construction team is looking to scale ground locations globally. As a member of the Design and Construction Team, work with multiple internal and external stake holders across multiple disciplines to design, build, and activate infrastructure that enables Kuiper to achieve its long-term mission. If you have an understanding of civil engineering, program management, permitting, and vendor and contract management, we would like to speak with you. This is a unique opportunity to join a program that will change the way Internet access is enabled for millions of people worldwide.<br><br>Key job responsibilities<br><br>As a Technical Business Developer working on the Kuiper Ground Infrastructure Design and Construction team you will be responsible for:<br><br><ul><li> Writing, negotiating, and managing design and construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out</li><li> Communicating risks and monthly business updates related to site design and construction to the larger organization</li><li> Managing a portfolio of global sites under active design (topo surveys, geotechs, power/fiber, construction drawings and building permit filings and approvals)</li><li> Managing a portfolio of global sites under active construction (site grading, power, access roads, conduits, concrete, and fencing)</li><li> Driving continuous improvement for future site designs and construction as lessons are learned</li><li> Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time</li><li> Interacting with engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders</li><li> Accustomed to a fast pace site deployment / launch environment experience ideal</li><li> Core operational responsibilities include ensuring consistency in processes, reporting, forecasting, and data integrity with respect to the project buildout</li><li> Highly developed oral and written communication/people skills Excellent organizational and time management skills</li><li> Able to travel as needed (up to 25%)<br><br></li></ul>A day in the life<br><br>We're dedicated to supporting new team members. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright and driven people.<br><br><strong>Basic Qualifications<br><br></strong>Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience<br><br>5+ years of professional experience with the design or build of ground infrastructure<br><br>5+ years of Proven project management, construction or engineering experience with a track record of managing both new builds and the enhancement of existing sites<br><br><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><br></strong>A curious self-starter with a proven track record of diving into unknown territory, learning new concepts, and pushing your comfort zone.<br><br>An effective multi-tasker who navigates a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with grace and efficiency. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,100/year in our highest geographic market.
