Job Title:

Worship / Associate Pastor Assistant

This job description is considered a classification and recruiting tool and is not intended to limit the assignment of work.

Reports to: Worship /Associate Pastor

Job Classification: Non-exempt (Part-Time – 30 hrs./week)

Job Purpose/Position Summary: To assist the Worship / Associate Pastor and staff in the planning and administration of the Worship Arts Ministry, volunteer functions, and other duties.

Qualifications:

Must be someone who has accepted Christ as personal Lord and Savior and has a growing relationship with God. This person will have godly character and be active in church. This person needs to have a servant's heart, be detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and have excellent communication and organizational skills. Also, it is important for this person to have the interpersonal skills to work well with a wide variety of personality types and be able to maintain confidentiality. Computer skills and general musical knowledge (chord charts / sheet music) are strongly preferred.

Position Responsibilities:

Provide general administrative assistance to the Worship / Associate Pastor, including, but not limited to:

  • Maintaining worship licensing agreements, handling correspondence and calls, assisting with department budget, purchasing musical and other necessary supplies, recruiting new people to the Worship Arts Ministry and other ministries overseen by the Worship / Association Pastor, etc.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of worship arts equipment and areas within the church facility.

In addition, the following responsibilities will be required:

Worship Ministry

  • Use Planning Center, ProPresenter, and other necessary worship software programs effectively.
  • Welcome/Thank you letters for new Worship Arts Ministry guests/members
  • Keep attendance for all Worship Arts Ministry members
  • Send link of service to Worship Arts Team
  • Print order of service for Band, Orchestra and Tech

Preparation for Sunday Services

  • Copy Order of Service for Band, Orchestra, and Tech
  • Pull Songs for Worship Pastor and pianist for Sundays

Band

  • Provide chord charts / music for band/pianist.

Choir

  • Make sure choir music is ready for Wednesday night practices.
  • File choir music in choir library.

Orchestra

  • Pull and file Orchestra music for Wednesdays and Sundays (sort by individual parts).
  • Pull and file Orchestra conductor scores.
  • Bind new orchestra scores.

Miscellaneous

  • Order new music
  • Update music database

Special Events

Additional assistance is often needed with certain events, such as:

  • Worship Arts Socials
  • Christian Concerts
  • Christmas Eve Services (including ordering Poinsettias)
  • Palm Sunday and Easter Services (including ordering Easter Lilies)

Family Life Center (FLC)

  • Oversee and coordinate administrative functions within the FLC
  • Coordinate with other staff in FLC functions

Ministry Support

  • Provide support for other ministry areas overseen by Worship / Associate Pastor

Office

  • Screen calls for the Worship / Associate Pastor
  • Recruit new people to the Worship Arts Ministry and other ministries overseen by the Worship / Associate Pastor
  • Share administrative responsibilities as needed
