Black Sky Tactical is a professional firearms training company providing Concealed Carry courses, NRA instruction, emergency preparedness training, and educational content focused on firearm safety, legal updates, self-defense, and responsible gun ownership.

We’re launching a YouTube channel and are looking for a talented video editor who understands how to create engaging, professional content that keeps viewers watching.

Position Summary

We’re seeking an experienced YouTube Video Editor to transform raw footage into polished, engaging videos that are typically 30 minutes in length.

The ideal candidate understands YouTube pacing, audience retention, storytelling, and modern editing techniques that maximize watch time while maintaining professionalism.

Responsibilities

● Edit raw video footage into engaging YouTube episodes (up to 30 minutes each)

● Remove mistakes, pauses, and unnecessary content

● Improve pacing to maximize viewer retention

● Add royalty-free background music and sound effects

● Incorporate graphics, titles, lower thirds, transitions, and animations

● Add B-roll, stock footage, photos, or supporting graphics when appropriate

● Perform basic color correction and audio enhancement

● Create YouTube-ready intros and outros

● Add captions or subtitles when requested

● Deliver videos optimized for YouTube (4K or 1080p)

● Meet agreed-upon production deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience editing successful YouTube content

● Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar software

● Strong understanding of YouTube audience retention strategies

● Experience creating engaging hooks and pacing edits

● Excellent audio editing skills

● Ability to communicate clearly and accept feedback

● Portfolio demonstrating YouTube or social media editing work

Preferred Experience

Experience editing content related to any of the following is a plus:

● Firearms

● Tactical training

● Law enforcement

● Military

● Outdoor recreation

● Education

● Podcast or interview content
