Epic Cogito SME Job Description
Healthcare IT professional specializing in Epic s Cogito reporting and analytics suite for building, manage, and optimize data models, reports, and dashboards within the Epic EHR ecosystem. This role is critical for translating clinical and operational needs into actionable analytics.
Core Responsibilities
* Epic System Management & Configuration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, design, and configure Epic EHR functionality and modules, ensuring alignment with clinical workflows and organizational goals.
* Workflow Optimization: Analyze clinical and administrative workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement Epic configurations that improve efficiency and user experience.
* Data Modeling & Reporting: Build and maintain data models, create custom reports and dashboards, and validate data integrity across Epic modules.
* Training & Support: Provide training, documentation, and troubleshooting for Epic Cogito tools and analytic solutions.
* System Maintenance & Enhancements: Support ongoing upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance of Cogito tools, databases, and configurations.
* Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with Epic support teams, technical teams, and end users to resolve issues and deliver analytics solutions.

Required Qualifications
* Certifications: Active Epic Cogito certification (e.g., Cogito Fundamentals, Caboodle Data Model) and/or related tools such as SlicerDicer, Radar, Reporting Workbench, Clarity, and Healthy Planet/Compass Rose.
* Experience: Minimum 6+ years in healthcare IT or informatics, with 4+ years of direct Epic experience; strong Epic Cogito reporting experience is essential.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in Epic EHR systems, SQL, and analytics tools; familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) for analytics development.
* Domain Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare operations, clinical terminology, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CMS)

4. Knowledge of healthcare it systems and interoperability standards.
