Undertaking responsibilities in an ambulatory clinic as an LPN or Medical Assistant entails collaborative efforts with the healthcare team to provide immediate and indirect care to patients while upholding Monument Health's protocols to meet individuals' healthcare requirements.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares the examination and treatment zones according to the clinic's regulations.
  • Performs patient rooming tasks such as recording vital signs, gathering data, and addressing other specified components relevant to the clinic setting and in alignment with the Scope of Responsibilities.
  • Accurately handles and documents single-unit medications/immunizations in adherence to clinic policy after successful completion of training/competency assessment.
  • Executes EKG procedures and laboratory tests in compliance with the clinic's CLIA license following completion of training and proving competency.
  • Confirms that the patient record documentation is accurate, easily comprehensible, and succinct as outlined in the Scope of Responsibilities. Can function as a provider scribe after successful completion of training.
  • Executes all specified clerical assignments and supervises the maintenance and procurement of supplies as directed.
  • Supports in setting up appointments for follow-up care based on given instructions.
  • Provides pre-approved patient education resources and channels patient questions to the provider or RN for responses.
  • Tasks described in the Monument Health Scope of Responsibilities.
  • Additional duties may be allocated as deemed necessary.

Additional Requirements

Required:Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certification - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Preferred:

Experience - 1+ years of Healthcare Experience

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
