Title: M365 Product Owner

Location: Remote No PST and MST consultants

Duration: through end of 2026 then ideally will convert to FTE (or extend into 2027)

 

 

Role summary

The contractor will act as the primary MS365 Product Owner from a functional perspective and serve as the Functional Lead for the Enterprise Productivity stream, with strong knowledge of Copilot, Microsoft 365, and emerging AI productivity tools.

Microsoft 365 (including Copilot and Agents) is a core platform within this scope, but the role is not limited to individual M365 features and is responsible for the broader productivity experience across the enterprise.

 

The Product Owner Lead defines, drives and governs the enterprise digital adoption strategy and roadmap, with a strong focus on M365 capabilities such as Copilot and Copilot Agents.

Operating in close partnership with Global Workplace Services (GWS) and acting as the adoption, governance and strategic product lead, while GWS owns platform delivery and technical implementation. The role does not perform hands-on technical build but requires strong technical understanding of platforms to guide decisions and governance.

 

This role will be accountable for the enterprise productivity ecosystem, defining the strategy, roadmap, and governance for tools that enable employee productivity, collaboration, and digital ways of working.

The role will also lead the change management rollout for all Copilot Premium licenses planned for Q4, including champion enablement, organizational upskilling, adoption planning, communications, and readiness activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • M365 Product Ownership
    • Define and own the enterprise M365 roadmap, priorities and adoption, with a strong focus on Copilot capabilities, releases, and enablement.
    • Lead the end-to-end Copilot implementation strategy, including pilots, phased rollouts, scaling, and continuous improvement.
    • Lead the Q4 change management rollout for Copilot Premium licenses, including readiness, communications, champion upskilling, organizational enablement, and adoption measurement.
    • Partner closely with Microsoft and GWS to plan and execute M365 implementations, training, and adoption programs.
    • Define the vision, governance, and operating model for Copilot, Agents, including standards for deployment and scale.

 

  • Enterprise Productivity Ownership
    • Own the enterprise productivity tooling portfolio, including M365 and other productivity, collaboration, and digital enablement tools.
    • Define the enterprise productivity roadmap, ensuring alignment to business priorities and employee experience outcomes.

 

  • Governance
    • Define and enforce governance standards for: MS365 tools: SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, etc.
    • Copilot and Copilot Agents usage.
    • Agent lifecycle management (design, deployment, maintenance, retirement)
    • Security, privacy, compliance, accessibility, and data protection
    • Continuously evolve governance models as Copilot and Agents capabilities mature.

 

  • Stakeholder Management
    • Act as a trusted advisor to GWS, Microsoft, and senior leaders.
    • Partners across IT, AI CoE, Learning & Development, Change Management, and functional teams to drive consistency and best practices.
    • Collaborate with platform owners, Product Managers, Application Leads, and end users to identify high-impact use cases.
    • Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants supporting DAP and M365 adoption initiatives.

 

  • Execution
    • Serve as the Product Owner Lead for all digital adoption platforms, defining product vision, roadmap, and prioritization of features and enhancements.
    • Oversee planning, execution, testing, rollout, and adoption of new tools, features, pilots, and scaled initiatives, including on-going training needs.
    • Manage and forecast roadmaps, dependencies, resource needs, and delivery timelines across multiple initiatives.
    • Manage licensing and chargeback model, including reporting and usage KPIs, across enterprise.
    • Manage chargeback models for Copilot and other AI tools, whether approved or under assessment, including usage tracking, cost allocation, stakeholder alignment, and recommendations on whether to proceed, scale, or run a pilot.

 

  • Performance Measurement
    • Define and track KPIs to measure adoption, engagement, and business value for initiatives and other DAP tools.
    • Monitor usage analytics, satisfaction metrics, and feedback to drive continuous improvement
    • Provide executive-ready reporting and insights on digital adoption performance and outcomes.

 

  • How we measure success
    • Deliver and socialize a clear enterprise digital adoption strategy and roadmap aligned to business priorities and Digital IT objectives.
    • Establish clear governance, standards, and ways of working adopted across key M365 workloads.
    • Launch or scale high-impact adoption initiatives for Microsoft 365 (including Copilot, agents and priority workloads) with measurable improvements in usage, engagement, and user satisfaction.
    • Implement a consistent KPI framework and executive reporting cadence that demonstrates business value, ROI, and adoption progress.

 

Qualifications & Experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Product Owner or Product Management certifications

M365 & AI expertise

 

Work Experience

Minimum 8+ years of experience in IT, digital workplace, product ownership, or digital adoption roles.

Preferred experience leading enterprise M365 adoption programs, DAP initiatives, governance models, and global change initiatives.

 

Technical & Soft Skills

Technical Skills

Strong technical understanding of platforms: Microsoft 365 applications, Copilot, agents, and enterprise IT ecosystems.

Ability to understand system dependencies, troubleshooting issues, and effectively partner with technical teams.

Strong working knowledge of Copilot, Copilot Premium licensing, AI productivity tools, and enterprise adoption considerations, including readiness, governance, cost recovery, and pilot evaluation.

 

Soft Skills

Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.

Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.

Proven ability to influence and lead through change.

Ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
