I am a long-time business owner running two small, part-time service businesses (real estate + notary). These are stable, mature operations—not startups, not agencies, not high-growth projects.
I am looking for a calm, reliable WordPress webmaster to handle maintenance, break/fix issues, and clearly defined tasks. This is not a creative, strategy, or SEO role. My goal is continuity, clarity, and peace of mind—not constant change.
If you enjoy tidy systems, clear instructions, and doing things right the first time, this role will suit you well.
Scope of Work:
You will be responsible for:
-WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates (with backups)
-Fixing errors, broken forms, or display issues
-Implementing specific, written changes as requested
-Monitoring for obvious issues (site down, form failure)
-Documenting all work so another webmaster could step in if needed
Schedule & Compensation:
-Very part-time, as-needed (some weeks no work at all)
-Ideal for someone with multiple clients who values predictable, low-stress work
-Paid per task or small monthly retainer (open to discussion)
This role is meant to support an existing life, not replace one.
Ideal Candidate:
-You may be a great fit if you:
-Have solid WordPress experience and respect best practices
-Are comfortable following instructions exactly
-Don’t need creative control to feel fulfilled
-Communicate clearly and without defensiveness
-Are fine working quietly in the background
-Understand that stability is the goal
This role is especially well-suited to:
-Experienced freelancers
-Semi-retired professionals
-Developers who enjoy maintenance work
-Detail-oriented operators who dislike chaos
Important Note on Fit
I am 70+ years old, enjoy working, and run my businesses by choice—not urgency. I am not building an empire or a tech company. I value professionalism, honesty, and respectful communication.
If you are looking to “take over,” “optimize everything,” or push big changes, this will not be a good match—and that’s okay.
How to Apply
Please include:
-A brief description of your WordPress experience
-How you typically handle changes that don’t go as planned
-Your preferred working arrangement (per task or retainer)
Concise, thoughtful responses are appreciated.
Thank You.
