Job Description

Essential Functions:

The ANA Nursing Process (2010) is employed to conduct the mentioned responsibilities:

  • Obtains comprehensive data that is relevant to the well-being and situations of healthcare recipients.
  • Scrutinize the assessment information to pinpoint the diagnosis or key problems.
  • Foresees the projected outcomes for a customized strategy individualized to the healthcare customer in question.
  • Crafts a design that outlines strategies and options to attain desired outcomes.
  • Enacts the identified plan and monitors the patient's advancement along the plan.
  • Care coordination involves orchestrating healthcare services.
  • Strategies employed in health teaching and health promotion aim to enhance health and establish a secure environment.
  • The collaboration between the APRN and nursing role specialist in consultation is geared towards providing expert advice, elevating the competencies of individuals, and fostering impactful transformations.
  • Tracks the development in meeting expected outcomes.

Operates within the framework established by the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010):

  • Nursing practice is systematically refined to enhance its quality and effectiveness

  • The legal parameters within which a Registered Professional Nurse operates are determined by the state in which they practice, and they are expected to offer knowledgeable and compliant care that meets the guidelines and standards established by regulatory bodies and accrediting organizations.
  • Conforms to the ethical standards outlined in the Code of Ethics for Nurses established by the American Nurses Association in 2010.

Utilizes applicable technology and software competently to:

  • Support nurses in their activities and maintain records of patient care.
  • Employ various work-related applications necessary for effective contribution as an active and engaged employee of the organization, such as utilizing the company's email service, engaging with iLearn training resources, participating in employee satisfaction surveys, exploring benefits and compensation details, and understanding organizational policies.

  • Tasks beyond the usual scope of work may be assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing or Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
