Bring Your Energy to Offshore Wind

We are looking for a Subcontracts Specialist/Engineer to join our team at our Aberdeen or Zoetermeer office on a full time, 12 month Fixed Term or Contractor basis. Join our Seaway7 Supply Chain Management Department, a team of over 70 professionals working on major offshore wind projects worldwide.

As a Subcontracts Specialist/Engineer, you will collaborate within a project team, tasked with identifying effective solutions to manage substantial subcontracted packages valued in the millions. In the SCM Project & Tender Group, you will handle offshore wind tenders and projects, ensuring that the required products and services are available on budget, on time, and meet our standards. You will work with our category management and procurement teams to meet all project needs, including vessel chartering, foundations fabrication and transport, subsea power cables manufacturing, Subsea Rock Installation, trenching services, and more.

We are open to a variety of profiles and backgrounds and are looking for technical, commercial, or contractual experienced professionals.

What will you be doing?

  • Define procurement strategy in cooperation with internal stakeholders and specialist disciplines across tenders and projects.
  • Manage mid-to-high complexity transactions with direct cost impact.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Legal, HSEQ, and Planning.
  • Keep strategy and project procurement plan up to date.
  • Obtain quotes and conduct commercial evaluations, aiming to identify the best economical solutions for relevant business needs.
  • Perform commercial analyses; normalise and evaluate bids received, incorporating technical evaluations from disciplines like Engineering, Planning, QHSE, Contracts/Legal, etc.
  • Conduct supplier negotiations and commercial evaluations.
  • Finalise the bid summary and make recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Finalise all subcontract documents for signature by authorised signatory.
  • Manage supplier relationships; schedule meetings with regular suppliers to manage expectations and align business interests.
  • Review supplier’s invoices and the final accounts.
  • Finalise subcontract close-out, obtain relevant documentation from suppliers and, where relevant, obtain as-built documentation.
  • Initiate and participate in supplier performance evaluations and populate lessons learned reports.
  • Work according to Seaway7 Business Management System and SCM tools.
  • Operate in accordance with Seaway7 Business Code of Conduct.
  • Safeguard compliance with company policies, objectives, environmental impact, safety, and customer requirements.

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Bachelor level degree in a technical, commercial, or legal discipline (minimum requirement).
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communication and negotiation strategies.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics.
  • High degree of diligence during day-to-day business.
  • 1-4 years of relevant working experience.
  • Willingness to travel from time to time.
  • Resourceful individual who engages effectively with diverse groups.
