This Position reports to:
Business Communications Manager
Datacenter Communication Leader (Global position_flexible location within Western Europe time zone)
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead communications for the rapidly growing datacenter segment in Electrification by developing and executing a communication strategy, aligning the full organization in ways that ensure a consistent story for ABB that helps us stand out.
The work model for the role is: hybrid.
This role contributes to the Electrification globally and partners closely with all Divisions.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Segment Communications Strategy

  • Develop and implement a clear and coherent global communications strategy in partnership with the Division communication and marketing teams to support segment priorities.
  • Accountable for the delivery of the communications strategy in full alignment with the Divisions. Creates a community of practice for collaboration and best practice sharing.
  • Ensure alignment of our story at key events and in campaigns.
  • Lead media relations and thought leadership for the segment. Identify and coach a bench of spokespeople and help them to be the company’s voice in the datacenter segment.
Owning the Electrification Datacenter Story
  • Ensure the full organization understands and is aligned with the DTC story.
  • Develop and deploy core assets (key messages, visuals, etc.) and templates for the full communications and marketing teams to implement globally.
  • Propose innovative communication strategies and tactics that help ABB stand out and show up differently from the competition.
Communications Leadership
  • Ensure the highest level of quality in communications and share best practices widely.
  • Be influential among the communications and marketing community to tell a powerful datacenter story in all our channels and with all audiences.
  • Track and measure the effectiveness of communication activities, gathering feedback from stakeholders to optimize future initiatives.
  • Share insights and best practices across teams to strengthen overall communication impact.

Qualifications For The Role
  • 15+ years’ experience in a strategic communications role preferably in an global role for a multinational matrix organization in the industrial sector.
  • Experience in the datacenter segment will be a strong plus.
  • Strong strategic communications experience, excellent storyteller, writer and editor in English (native speaker or bilingual).
  • Ability to understand key audience needs and develop innovative communication plans to meet those needs.
  • Strong project manager who has worked successfully with senior leaders on their communications skills.
  • Team player who thrives by contributing to the success of the team and the business and can influence and work successfully in a matrixed organization
  • Ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely to executive leadership and help them do the same to key audiences. Coaches others to be better communicators.
