Job Description :

Summary

Manage full cycle leave of absence cases via ServiceNow for all of the United States plus Canada. Case load average is 150+ cases and the specialist handles the case from intake to eligibility checks, sending required notices customized by State, to reviewing medical certification documents for accuracy, making approval/denial decisions and provide guidance and support to managers and employees to address any inquiries or issues related to leave of absence and ensure employees' positive experience. Serve as the primary point of contact for managers and employees throughout the leave of absence process. Process and approve leave of absence transactions in Workday.

The Leave Specialist will perform a variety of both routine and complex administrative and professional work. Serve as a subject matter expert on the leaves process as well as State and Federal leave laws.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate the leave of absence process Company-wide. Perform individualized leave assessments, resolve issues, and escalate cases as appropriate
  • Monitor work queues appropriately and prioritize cases as required. Manage extensive phone, email, and case management communications with employees and managers, with the ability to multitask across cases.
  • Process and approve leave transactions in Workday (requests, returns, modifications) accurately and quickly.
  • Maintain information/documentation in case management system to track and ensure accurate and timely case management.
  • Provide counseling and coaching for managers and employees around taking leave, types of leave and eligibility, as well as modifying leaves to ensure a smooth transition and leave process.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Identify areas for continuous improvement within internal operations, processes, etc.
  • Maintain deep expertise and specialized knowledge of legal and statutory policies around leaves of absences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including participating in other activities, projects and growth initiatives within the Compliance or Employee Services area.

  • Experience working in case management and HRIS systems (Service Now, Workday, etc.) intermediate required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience in Human Resources or related field
  • Three (3) years or more HR generalist or HR compliance role (e.g. leave of absence, ADA, Employee Relations) required
  • Three (3) years or more Demonstrated experience facilitating leave of absence processes including coaching/consulting others required
  • Three (3) years or more Experience in interpreting and ensuring human resources regulatory compliance required
  • One (1) year or more Experience in high volume, complex case management required
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state absence laws and regulations advanced required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Workday and/or Service Now is a plus intermediate required
  • Experience working in case management and HRIS systems (Service Now, Workday, etc.) intermediate required
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:
