Professional Telephone Receptionist- *Part Time*

We are seeking to hire two (2) to three (3) additional professional telephone receptionists. We have 2 positions for part time hours (minimum of 20 hours per week). The following hours are needed for coverage:

  • Mornings between the hours of 6:00 AM and 2:00 PM (Part Time)
  • Evenings between the hours of 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM (Part Time)
  • Split Shifts are also available for this position.

Working at least one weekend day is a requirement for this position.

For the last 30+ years, Always On Call has been providing virtual receptionist, customer service, emergency dispatch, and switchboard services to a wide range of exclusive clientele. As a Telephone Receptionist, you will be the first impression for businesses, non-profits, and government agencies, serving as an extension of their office when they are unable to answer the phone personally. Ultimately, this position is all about providing an integral service to assist callers in their time of need.

To be successful in this position, you must have a pleasant personality, professional demeanor, and able to enunciate clearly. The ability to answer multiple calls in a timely manner and use American business etiquette on calls, with accurate spelling, grammar, and sentence structure are essential for this position. As a 24/7 industry, this position requires working in shifts, so flexibility is a plus.

What You’ll Do:

  • Answer and relay telephone calls using a state-of-the-art telecommunications system.
  • Provide pertinent information, and/or take messages using a customized computer-based scripted messaging system.
  • Follow client and company procedures for call handling and relaying of information.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where one appreciates making the difference in someone else’s life, especially in a time of need.
  • Utilize good judgment and professional acumen, with an empathetic and caring personality.
  • Ensure punctual attendance for scheduled shifts.

What You’ll Need:

  • Compassionate demeanor and professional attitude.

  • Computer with a Windows 10 or newer operating system.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office 365
  • Hands-on experience with basic office equipment.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 45 WPM, while asking pertinent questions and documenting the caller’s responses.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred, but not required.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
