The Engineering and Vendor Management team serves three functional areas for the Workplace, Infrastructure and Logistics Department: Project Management, Engineering Assessments, and Vendor Management. For Project Management, we are responsible for managing large capital projects, primarily at the Headquarters in Vienna, VA. Engineering Assessments involve the initiation, conduct, and review of engineering assessments, surveys, or other analytics of facility management data. Vendor Management is the management of the various vendors used by the Facility Management team. Provide full lifecycle project management from inception through implementation of facility and department projects. Support contractors, engineers, architects, and maintenance service providers in project execution. Coordinate with authorities of jurisdiction. Collaborate with other facility teams during design, construction, renovation, quality assurance and turnover phase of new construction and renovation projects for assigned facilities or projects. The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2026 and ending in August 2026. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or later. * Plan, secure and manage resources and execution for various facilities projects to ensure construction specifications, budgets and deadlines are met. * Set, manage and communicate client expectations and stakeholder needs for the project. * Contribute to project teams by assisting in development of work plans, scope, schedules, budget, milestones, deliverables, communications, and training. * Oversee project progress to ensure documentation and schedules to meet customer requirements. * Prepare and coordinate professional architectural and engineering services to design projects to meet business unit objectives. Partner with engineers and architects in the design and function of the projects. * Secure resources and ensure optimum utilization of those resources, meeting budgetary requirements. * Identify and minimize project risks or constraints that would impact project deliverables. * Coordinate and collaborate with professional architects, engineers, vendors and general contractors to complete the projects. * Identify, escalate and resolve issues associated with project(s) ensuring deliverables conform to established quality and schedules. * Provide status reports to management regarding project deliverables. * Manage approvals and permits through project completion and operation. * Gather relevant metrics to determine and measure overall vendor quality. * Manage relationships with vendors, participate in developing RFP's, contract negotiations, oversees contract quality assurance, budget and cost mechanisms. * Review service contracts for thoroughness of services to be provided and ensure legal and contractual requirements are clear. Partner with Procurement as needed. * Assist in reviewing contractual undertakings to include design development and review of technical documentation/blueprints provided by outside architects/engineers and contractors. * Pursuing construction management, civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, architectural engineering or related degree * Familiarity with project/program management processes and methodologies * Ability to lead project planning, management, scheduling and presentation in commercial construction or facility management * Ability to exercise sound judgment; display a high degree of initiative; and manage multiple priorities effectively * Proficiency in analyzing, problem solving, planning and organizing project related activities. * Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills. * Exposure to working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects * Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy * Ability to work independently and in a team environment * Exposure to working with diverse internal and external contacts * Ability to compile, organize and present information clearly and concisely * Effective organizational, planning and time management skills * Effective verbal and written communication skills * Effective skill interpreting, applying and explaining written and oral regulations, instructions, products and procedures Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM Location: 820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA 22180
