This complex system of 34 web-based modules is used by over 10,000 active users to meet the housing needs of over 2.5 million service members, DoD civilians, and their families.</p> <p><strong>Clearance</strong>: Active DoD Secret clearance. If meaningful work, initiative, creativity, and continuous self-improvement are important to your career, join our growing team and discover What's Next for you.</p> <p>This role is ideal for a developer with strong technical skills and a collaborative mindset, looking to contribute to a high-impact mission in a dynamic Agile environment.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong>:</p> <p>As a Software Developer Jr, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Participate in Agile software development processes to support ongoing updates and enhancements to the Military Housing system.</li> <li>Assist in gathering and analyzing user requirements from various DoD service branches through formal Change Management processes.</li> <li>Contribute to the design, development, testing, and integration of software modules.</li> <li>Perform debugging, configuration, and maintenance of software products.</li> <li>Support operational integration and provide user support as needed.</li> <li>Collaborate with other developers and system support teams to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.</li> <li>Assist in code reviews and documentation to ensure maintainability and compliance with DoD standards.</li> <li>Help evaluate system performance and support capacity planning and hardware/software upgrades.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Education: BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional/educational experience.</li> <li>Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant software development experience.</li> <li>Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8140-compliant certification.</li> <li>Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.</li> <li>Proficient with Git and at least one of the following: Maven, Ant, and Gradle.</li> <li>Experience advancing code to a CI/CD Pipeline or build server, such as Jenkins.</li> <li>Experience using enterprise technologies and standards to include: J2EE, JSP, Servlets, Hibernate, EJB, XML, and application servers (e.g., JBoss).</li> <li>Knowledge of secure coding practices and DoD cybersecurity requirements.</li> <li>Ability to prioritize effective communication, problem-solving, adaptability, and teamwork while contributing and collaborating within a cross-functional team.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications (At least one of these)</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with Java OOP design to build MVC applications that interact with a relational database via JPA/Hibernate and JPQL.</li> <li>Able to interpret/understand and modify/create data in a relational database via an SQL editor/developer.</li> <li>Experience with Google Web Toolkit (GWT) or equivalent Java-based, client-side web framework.</li> <li>Experience with HTML, XML, JavaScript, and JavaScript libraries (e.g., jQuery, React, Angular).</li> <li>Experience debugging Client and Server, Java and Javascript</li> <li>Experience with reporting tools (JasperSoft, Crystal Reports, JReports).</li> <li>Experience with software testing and test automation, including unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, code coverage tools like JaCoCo, and application security analysis tools such as Fortify.</li> <li>Experience with additional programming languages (Python, PHP, C, Pro *C, etc.)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use</li> <li>Ability to lift up to 10–15 pounds occasionally.</li> </ul> <p>#JT</p><div class="content-conclusion"><hr> <h3>About NT Concepts</h3> <p>Founded in 1998 and headquartered in the Washington DC Metro area, NT Concepts is a private, mid-tier company with clients spanning the Intelligence and Defense communities.
